I'm New Here

We welcome you to visit this Sunday…

Words of Hope

Brothers and sisters, we want you to know what happens to those who die. We don’t want you to mourn, as other people do. They mourn because they don’t have any hope.
1 Thessalonians chapter 4, verse 13

We are a church community of all ages who believe that Jesus Christ is the answer to our biggest need; a right relationship with God.

Devoted to Doing Good

Devoted to Doing Good Titus chapter 3, verses 1 to 8 You can trust this saying. These things are important. Treat them that way. Then those who trust in God will be careful to commit themselves to doing good. These things are excellent. They are for the good of everyone. Titus chapter 3, verse 8 We should never think of good works as just a “social gospel”. A Reminder, verses 1 and 2 God, through Paul’s letter to Titus, reminds…

Resting in Righteousness

Resting in Righteousness Psalm 7 There is an awkwardness in thinking about Judgement. Is God harsh? Or perhaps my own experience of personal injustice bites too deeply? David cries out in a plea for protection from men terrible as lions. He looks in his own heart. “Am I innocent?” He thinks about God the righteous Judge, asking Him to deal with injustice. Evil and trouble bring their own judgment upon themselves. He moves from plea to praise. “I will give…

What Grace Does

What Grace Does Titus chapter 2, verses 11 to 12 “Why do I have to do  …?” Kids often say it. Adults too. Because God is concerned for our well-being, eternally. Grace, what is it? Merit is the almost universal answer, except for Biblical Christianity. There we find the way to reconciliation with God is all through what He has done, not the man-in-the-street’s “Just be good”. Grace saves us, verse 11 Grace trains us, verses 12 to 14 Grace…

A Grace Shaped Community

Titus chapter 2, verses 1 to 10, Grace shaping the church into a Grace-Shaped Community. A Christian asked a Hindu what he thought of the church. He replied “Your Christ is beautiful, glorious, but your church is despicable.” SAdly it is often true, and the church little different from the world. Three things:- God’s Word is to be the foundation. Honouring God before the world is to be the motivation. Learning to encourage other is to be the application.

Church Blog

Second Chances

Second Chances My Cousin Rachel A little while ago I came across a line from the novel ‘My Cousin Rachel’, written by Daphne du Maurier entitled.  The book was written in 1951 and has been followed in more recent times by a movie of the same name, which was released in 2017.  I must confess that I haven’t read the book or seen the movie so I can’t really recommend either.  But it was the following line that got my…
