Words of Hope

Then what is written will come true. It says, 'Death has been swallowed up. It has lost the battle.' 'Death, where is the victory you thought you had? Death, where is your sting?' The sting of death is sin. And the power of sin is the law. But let us give thanks to God! He gives us the victory because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done.
1 Corinthians chapter 15, verses 54 t0 57

We are a church community of all ages who believe that Jesus Christ is the answer to our biggest need; a right relationship with God.

Before the manger

Before the Manger John’s Gospel, chapter 1, verses 1 to 2 John’s unique contribution Mark’s Gospel is silent, Matthew and Luke’s Gospels give us the details of Jesus’ birth, but only John takes us back to the beginning, “before the manger”. In the beginning, the Word was already there. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word To call Jesus “The Word” seems a strange way of speaking, but…

Side by Side

Side by Side Colossians chapter 4 verses 2 to 18 Christians are not to be lone rangers. The church is God’s family, and spiritual diversity is God’s way. Relationships are vitally important to God. Troublemakers and Team-Members

Troublemakers and Team-Members – Titus chapter 3 verses 9 to 15 Troublemakers verses 9-12 Controversy is not wrong. Jesus Himself was very controversial, but about things that were vital for us humans to be restored to our proper relationship with God. The test: is this issue something important to help us know him better? Is it at the core of the Gospel? If not, it is a foolish controversy. The remedy? Warn someone who persists in foolish controversy. Warn them…

Devoted to Doing Good

Devoted to Doing Good Titus chapter 3, verses 1 to 8 You can trust this saying. These things are important. Treat them that way. Then those who trust in God will be careful to commit themselves to doing good. These things are excellent. They are for the good of everyone. Titus chapter 3, verse 8 We should never think of good works as just a “social gospel”. A Reminder, verses 1 and 2 God, through Paul’s letter to Titus, reminds…

Church Blog

What is your greatest fear?   Many of us could list all kinds of different fears that we experience. Some of us are afraid of heights. Others are afraid of the dark. Still others are afraid of clowns. But when it comes down to it I think many of us would say that our greatest fear is our fear of death.   I’ve been consistently reading the words of Jesus for about twenty years now, yet He never ceases to surprise me with what…
