A Song for All Seasons – When I’m Feeling Discouraged

When I’m Feeling Discouraged – Psalms 42 AND 43

BIBLE READING –   PsalmS 42 & 43

bible message from psalms 42 & 43

For the director of music. A maskil of the Sons of Korah.

As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
My tears have been my food
    day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
    ‘Where is your God?’
These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go to the house of God
under the protection of the Mighty One
with shouts of joy and praise
    among the festive throng.

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Saviour and my God……..

I will sing the wondrous story – Francis H. Rowley 1886

I have told you these things, so that in Me  you may have peace .In this world you will have trouble but take heart , I have overcome the world.

John16:33

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
