An obscure set of rules to keep, to get you to heaven? Who would want that?
Not so! God gave Israel His rules after He had rescued them from slavery, to help them stay out of slavery.
- The God Who speaks – “And God spoke” verse 1.
- The God Who keeps His promises – “I am the Lord your God” verse 2.
- The God Who redeems – “who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.” verse 2.
God’s Law is NOT a ladder we must climb to heaven.
God’s Law IS a mirror to show us our dirty faces.
God’s Law IS a map to lead us to Christ.
