Keep Out! – Come In!

Keep Out! – Come In!

Keep Out! – Come In! – Matthew chapter 27 verse 51

Keep Out!

The Curtain of the Temple was 5 stories high and very thick, separating God’s Most holy Place from everyone but the High Priest. Even he was only allowed in once a year, after offering sacrifices for his own and the people’s sins.

5 Every high priest is selected from among the people and is appointed to represent the people in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness. This is why he has to offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people.

Hebrews 5:1-3

Week after week the Temple curtain said “KEEP OUT!” No access to God Who is God, for we are not God. No access to God Who is Holy, for we are not holy.

Come In!

At the death of Jesus God tore the curtain in two from top to bottom. God did it!

51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split.

Matthew 27:51

This says “COME IN!”

Full access to God is now possible. Free access to God is now possible. Not through the Temple or the sacrifices made there, but through the death of God’s Son Jesus and the sacrifice He offered for us.

19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest for ever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 6:19-20

We deserve “KEEP OUT!”. but now we hear “COME IN!” Will you come in? That would make this Good Friday a truly Great Friday for you.
