Out With the Old and In With the New – Ephesians chapter 4 verses 17-32
17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking…. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Restoration or Transformation?
What God Does
God alone brings about transformation. We can’t. “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins” Ephesians 2:1
Because He does it, it no longer seems unreasonable to be commanded to “put off” and “put on” – out with the old and in with the new.
What we must do
Daily we can “put off” and “put on”, just because, and only because, God is the transformer. We depend on Him. Ephesians 4:22-24
