The Good Life 6 – Jesus’ Kingship & Our Anxiety

Matthew chapter 6, verses 25 to 34

Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia. On average, one in four people – one in three women and one in five men – will experience anxiety at some stage in their life. In a 12-month period, over two million Australians experience anxiety (from BeyondBlue)

Not occasional anxiety over special circumstances. Rather, daily, crippling anxiety, fear and worry.

Christians are not immune from this. It is part of our common condition in a broken world.

You can throw the whole weight of your anxieties upon him, for you are his personal concern.

1 Peter 5:7 JB Phillips New Testament

Listen carefully to God’s truth Matt. 6:25-34

Life is more than food and clothing. Matt. 6:25-26

He feeds sparrows Matt. 6:26

He clothes the flowers Matt. 6:27

He knows our needs Matt. 6:28 A loving, caring, merciful God.

Seek his kingdom first. Matt. 6:33 When everyone else fails you, Jesus is still there.

He promises to provide, enough for all our needs. Tomorrow belongs to God. Matt. 6:34 God says “Trust Me”. Understand that Jesus knows and cares for you.

How sweet the name of Jesus sounds in a believer’s ear. It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds and drives away his fear.
