Work – a blessing or a curse?

Many think work is:-

  • A utility – something we just have to do to eat.
  • An identity – who I am.
  • An “allergy” – something to avoid if you can.

What does God say?

Firstly, Work is Good. It started in Paradise.

Secondly, Work is an expression of the Image of God. Work done well dignifies us (including the unpaid work of those who cannot “work”).

Then, Work brings glory to God. All work, not just “spiritual” work.

23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters

Colossians 3:23

It is the Gospel of Jesus, not our work, that shapes our identity.
