Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room 9 – The Blessed.

Luke’s Gospel, chapter 1, verses 46 to 56

If we do not know God as we ought, we do not know ourselves as we ought.

Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Chapters 1 and 2 of Luke’s account are like a musical. Mary sing and the angles sing. Singing is important. The Scripture tells us this again and again. Martin Luther said “a fire is kindled in our hearts” when we sing together.

What God sees: Luke 1:46-48

“God my saviour” is Mary’s song.
Her humility ( in knowing God, three things are needed: humility, humility and humility).

What God does: Luke 1:49-53

He has mercy to those who fear Him, and mercy beyond human understanding. Holy is His name.
He does mighty deeds. Casting down the proud, lifting up the humble.

What God says: Luke 1:54-56

Christ Jesus set us free so that the blessing given to Abraham would come to the Gentiles through Christ. He did it so that we might receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. The promised Spirit comes by believing in Christ.

The Letter to the Galatians, chapter3, verse 14

He came not to condemn, but to save. “Grace, grace, grace covered my sin and brought me to life!”

Keep on singing!
